Ten salad options are sold by the pound daily, ranging in price from $6.95 for Oriental coleslaw to balsamic chicken for $11.95 per pound; you can get a single serving or enough to feed a family.
My new favorite summer salad, the quinoa salad with feta, chickpeas, olives, tomatoes, herbs and a citrus dressing, is filling without being heavy. I'm far from alone in loving this salad; it proved so popular as a special that it was recently added to the regular lineup.
Served year-round, soups have so many fans they get their own phone line for daily flavor updates. Also worth a stop, homemade quiche changes daily. Get a slice ($8.95) or take home an entire deep dish for $20.
Half sandwiches ($3.75) are ready-made and include chicken, tuna and a popular Parmesan-crusted vegetable with lime-dipped avocados, sprouts, onions and tomatoes.
If you're in a hurry, stick with deli salads and ready-made sandwiches. Anything that has to be heated up in the kitchen takes a bit more time.
